  1. I loved that I did not know what was going to happen next and I could not guess the ending, so often I can I like it when a writer does not follow the rules both in books and in movies My favorite Harrison Ford movie, the one where he is the bad guy I don t understand why people are so set on deadlines either I mean how much pleasant would the experience be if the author, painter, or whatever the case may be, did not have a deadline and could take their time to hone their work Look at some of th [...]

  2. This was the second time I read this book For the most part I remembered scenes when reading them, so the magic was mostly lost for me this time around But this was still an entertaining read and well written with mysteries awaiting to be revealed and a forgotten past to learn and understand about. The story is also about the power of true love and will and commitment to redeem a troubled soul.

  3. I like the new Koontz Some will say the story is not good because this is a new and gentler Koontz but I like him This story is about a man who is driven to save some people through an inexplicable psychic communication He gives up everything to follow what he thinks might be his Godly communications A reporter is at the scene of one of his rescues and is intrigued She tries to interview him but gets nothing substantial She takes vacation time to investigate him and how he knows where to go and [...]

  4. I love to read Dean Koontz and am on track to read everything he s written This book had a gripping Part 1, I literally could not put it down Parts 2 and 3 weren t as gripping for me I would have liked to read like Part 1, hence the 4 stars But 5 stars for the author

  5. While it made a good start after I read first few pages from a borrowed library book and then purchased its digital version, as it reaches towards the end, it became too much detailed and conversation oriented, something that I don t consider a page turner or suspense quality Honestly, I skimmed through last 25 part of the book so that I can finish it fast.Everyone has their own taste of book reading but not something that I would like to go again with.

  6. First of all, I couldn t finish this book Starting out I was hopeful, but it didn t take long for it to turn into a complete bore The experiences in the doomed plane could have been really good, but OMG did Koontz have to go into such minute detail about the nuts and bolts of the plane I think that over attention to unimportant details, and descriptions that don t matter at all, really did it for me When I realized that I wasn t even halfway through the book and I had skimmed probably half of th [...]

  7. The book started out interesting enough Like all his works I was right there But the we got to know Holly, from the moment she became a stalker, it loses something Nuttier than a fruitcake She goes from a failed reporter, to a Harvard graduate Psychiatrist In one day Not his best work

  8. The story started out fine, but quickly went downhill The characters were unbelievable, the writing was overly melodramatic in places, and just ridiculous in others All in all, I found this book to be the worst I have read in a long time.

  9. Every time I read a Dean Koontz book I feel as though I have been dragged along a cobbled road at breakneck speed As I return to a normal human being, I carefully inspect my mentality as every word Dean writes leave an indelible mark upon my brain and keeps itself safely tucked away until the next onslaught of amazing literature lands in my lap to thrill and amaze me.

  10. This book started off very promising with a good plot developing The problems began when Holly and Jim got together Holly as a character was extremely annoying and frankly not particularly believable I m sorry to say I abandoned the book halfway through the first time I ve ever done that with a Dean Koontz book I ve always been such a fan The storyline started getting drawn out and, to be honest, just plain boring I really couldn t have cared in the end what happened Not up to his usual standard [...]
