  1. BORING ALL I CAN SAY It drags, no suspense and lost me after the first chapter Characters are unlikable, story line is disjointed with no edge of your seat excitement to grab my interest or keep me engrossed Never read this author s books and won t buy any after this drudgery.UPDATE Decided to keep reading It s better but still drags because of the minutiae in describing every scene and the character s thoughts It has no bearing on the story line.

  2. I Gave this book 5 stars because I have read all of his books and they are all great This was an old one I guess I missed He always manages to bring some of his old characters into the story ie Hester Crimstein, Win,Therese even a reference to MB Reps A man accused of being a pedophile, a news reporter involved in a sting, a missing girl and a shocking twist If you haven t read Coben start now he is a fantastic writer

  3. I ve read several of Harlan Coben s books from his later ones, and this is the first of his older novels that I chose Although suspenseful and a good thriller, I had to keep going back to refresh who was who as far as characters are concerned There are a lot of them in this twist after twist story The twists got confusing for me, too , but I think it was because I had a couple of days when I didn t read, and I had to refresh my memory where I left off The ending got complicated but turned into q [...]

  4. I ve always enjoyed Corben s books Caught did not disappoint I couldn t put it down The mystery strung you along in one direction, only to turn everything inside out in the end.Wendy was a strong and interesting character Very believable I also loved the brief appearance of Win.My only complaint was that it wasn t long enough, but then it might not have flowed so perfectly.Really great book.

  5. This is your basic Harlan Coben novel something has happened in the distant past which comes back to bite multiple backsides in the present We are in the suburbs, here, not uncommonly, in New Jersey HC s home There are suspense elements, thriller elements, mystery elements and an extended ending which joins the loose ends and is nice and satisfying In other words part Jonathan Kellerman and with the twists and turns at the end part Jeffery Deaver The plotting is masterful, even if the characteri [...]

  6. This is my first and likely my last Harlen Coben novel I have to say it must be lauded by folks who are very easily amused and entertained, because there is nothing amazing in the book at all, not the writing, not the plot, not the characters I found no one to like here really, and was just glad when the book was over No gift for description, for writing action scenes, nothing really but a long bore Read Lehane or DeMille or Steven Hunter or Childs All of those will blow your socks off if you th [...]

  7. Coven always does a fine job telling a story This is a page turner well written with nothing irritating except maybe his occasional nods to his other characters that we regular readers already know I will say that the plot became very complicated at the end, maybe a little too much like trying too hard for the surprise ending, but the ending was good and a surprise so there you have it.

  8. This is a fantastic book The story starts off with a disturbing event, and I wasn t sure who the bad guy was or if the truth would ever be known The characters in this book are interesting, funny at times and strong Wendy s determination to find the whole truth, regardless of the consequences was inspiring The answers to the crimes slowly start to make sense but then out of the blue, the story takes a complete turn I was hoping the ending would be a surprise and it didn t disappoint The epilogue [...]

  9. I m think I m done with Harlan Coben now You read Coben novels like you gorge on ice cream, you just motor through 400 pages and then feel quite uncomfortable and know you won t want ice cream again for a long time, that s how I felt finishing this book Caught isn t terrible but it s not that great either, the dialogue is tortured and tried to be so clever but is just pretty painful at times The characters are never really drawn beyond hair colour and body mass and so it feels like the story has [...]

  10. I enjoyed The Stranger last year so I decided it was time to read another Harlan Coben novel.Caught was really quite complicated but it was all explained in the end with some shocking truths revealed and I love nothing than being shocked with surprising twists and turns.Initially, I didn t like Wendy because I saw her as a nosy, lying journalist However, I grew to like her because she had a conscience she couldn t live with herself knowing that she had caused a possibly innocent man s Dan Mercer [...]
