480 thought on “Lost in Kandahar (Kindle Single)

  1. The writing is excellent The descriptions vivid I feel like I was there and made the trip The story begins with a brief description of the author s arrangements and preparation for the trip Then he briefly paints a picture of a staging base housing over 7,000 and away from the fighting Then moves quickly to the most interesting, and riveting, chapters describing parts of his experience on the front with the soldiers out on patrol and as they worked their way through a local village.

  2. Alex Berenson is a picture of truthful reporting in this dark culture of deception This work is enlightening as are Mr Berenson s courageous, honest works on the recent international virus panic Why can t there be authors like Alex Berenson What happened to our culture that once sought truth at all costs and rejected duplicity in every form Thank you, Mr Berenson, for this work and your other gutsy, truthful works on the current medical milieu our entire world is facing.

  3. This was my unit during my 10 11 deployment to Afghanistan I was the company medic and this was a very accurate of our day to day We had many cultural issues was had to balance with our own personal ethics Matt Fields constantly had something to say about everything it was hilarious Just read with an open mind.

  4. This report, which it really was in essence, described the stark difference between our way of life and the lives of the Afghans While it seems critical to us that we fight the battles we fight to prevent the Taliban killing from continuing, where women are treated horribly as we ve come to know, and expanding again beyond the borders The writer effectively portrays life as a soldier with its commitment to fellow soldier but also to the larger American and Allies effort to combat evil in an ongo [...]

  5. Berenson does a wonderful job with fiction I have most of his books , but in the back of my mind, I always think the real Middle East can t be socrazy This mindset makes it all the important to read this nonfiction, especially from such an accomplished and experienced reporter Also, this too short look at reality can make us appreciate how skillfully Alex has incorporated real life details into his fiction.

  6. This captures the useless yet heroic efforts of the Americans fighting in Afghanistan As we know now the Afghani are not worth it The successive American regimes all failed their soldiers and their citizens. It would have been better to bribe them and leave them to fight amongst themselves.

  7. I think that in this Kindle Single, Lost in Kandahar by Alex Berenson, I gleaned enough from it to make it worth reading As the soldiers point out, there was not that much action when Berenson was embedded with troops in Afghanistan, and that if he had been there a couple of months earlier, he might have seen Before I read this, I had no idea what the Kandahar Air Field is like and how many people occupy it The little part on military organization was helpful to me since it s information I ve he [...]

  8. I love Alex Berenson s novels, so I decided I would give this a try I thought it was an interesting look at the average Joe s life in Afghanistan, however I do wish the book had been longer I read the whole thing in about 15 minutes It is like an extended newspaper article, and being that Berenson was a journalist by trade, maybe that is what it was intended to be Regardless, I would have liked a little in depth look at the men and the situations they were in in spite of this, I would still reco [...]

  9. Read in the light of 2021, this little historical document, written 10 years before the historic events of August 2021, is an absolute must read to understand that even in 2011 the Afghan war seemed like madness and extreme folly.Biden wasn t to blame for the debacle that was Afghanistan he was just the last man standing when the music stopped And don t just try to pin the blame on Trump, either Defeat and humiliation was the only viable outcome as early as 2010 2011 90 % of the blame lies with [...]
