  1. This was one of those Well, I m already into it so I have to get these people out of trouble by finishing it books It must be an early Dugoni His others are far superior I found most of it implausible Such a prison for boys couldn t have remained under the radar today And a street smart kid like Jake would have recognized right away what was being grown there And undercover agents couldn t or wouldn t have done nothing while kids were tortured I could list a dozen implausibles but why tell the s [...]

  2. There is no way, absolutely no way, I could have figured out the twists and turns in this plot It wasn t for lack of trying, on my part.Just fantastic I loved that I couldn t Usually, I can.I m smiling, even now, when I think back to certain parts of the story, where I stopped I went back a couple or three chapters, and hoped something there would give me a clue, as to what had just happened But No LolTricky, Mr Dugoni, very tricky. So, I continued reading. There was a point, probably 3 4 through, [...]

  3. I am a fan of Robert Dugoni and his David Sloan novels, but this one did not give me the satisfaction of David Sloan s dedication to courtroom expertise that he normally exploits Possibly not using Charlie Jenkins is part of it This novel was also a little too easy in most of its events , such as Cash pre planning the alleged execution of the fathers by leaving a pack buried 9 ft below a stone clff in the shale below and the heros finding a pack strap, after falling that far over the edge with t [...]

  4. This is my second Dugoni novel I really like this writer Conviction starts with frustration that Sloan s step son and the son of a friend are arrested, tried and convicted in a one horse, one judge town No one is at the boys trial and they are quickly sent off to a juvenile correction center The boys fathers are frustrated and you, the reader feel their frustration Sloan, a lawyer, can t even get access to the boys He goes through a lot of maneuvers to get to the boys, to gain the release of the [...]

  5. Even though there was a lot of angst and violence in between, it does my heart good to know that Dugoni finally ended a Sloane book on a positive note I was beginning to think that Dugoni was going to continue to torture Sloane who is really a good guy and who deserves better than he s been given so far This book was not necessarily easy to read since kids were being railroaded into a brutal detention camp for young offenders based on trumped up charges It was evident early on that the judge was [...]

  6. I ve enjoyed all the David Slone series by Robert Dugoni What I like most is the way he develops the people in his books and keeps the reader informed and brings everything together throughout the book I don t call them characters because Dugoni keeps them as people which makes his books much interesting The Conviction was a very good book to read, but not so good before bed It was like all his books, HARD TO PUT DOWN I ve lost sleep reading his books and can t wait for to come.

  7. Dugoni is a relatively new author for me, but I continue to be impressed by his imagination and skill in writing The issue of Boot Camp for juvenile offenders was always offensive to me My personal experience growing up was that children subject to the strictest discipline were rebellious and likely to break the law Dugoni presented the worst aspect that concept combined with the danger inherent in privatizing penal facilities This is not a story to read before bed.Nevertheless, it was well told [...]

  8. I am a huge fan of Robert Dugoni, and his Sloane books are excellent The hero is truly heroic and the plots combine legal drama with thrilling action. This is the last Sloane so far and doesn t quite match up to the superb Murder One , which easily won five stars from this reviewer The Conviction was good and kept me turning the pages, but towards the end the false climaxes became a bit tedious you can wait too long for the pay off The short courtroom scene was almost a postscript, which was disa [...]

  9. This book was fanastic, but what can one expect from Robert Dugoni I have read several of his books and enjoyed every single one.The storylines are always well put together and so easily understood, in fact, I couldn t put this book down and stayed up until the wee small hours desperate to get to the ending, it was so gripping RD is one of my favourite authors Please keep them coming.
