  1. Of all the Clive Cussler stories and documentaries I ve read all of them since the early 1980s, and catching up on the early ones this is another Except, in recent years Dirk Pitt kinda lost his mojo after taking over NUMA.This story was like the old Dirk and Al Giordino of the first generation writing that was such great fun to read In fact, you ll even find some embedded adopted devices out of some of those storiesand that s okay They are edge of seat reading even though you know our heroes wi [...]

  2. you ll find a lot of the same details common to all of Cussler s books, I think Clive and Dirk.whoever actually does the writing these days make one of the best Cussler teams writing the various series Something happens somewhere, sometime in the past and then the story moves into the near, in this case May 2020 and ends two years later present times. Some evildoer connects with the past story element and it takes the Pitts and their friends to save the day You get 2 usually connecting storylines [...]

  3. I always love reading the next Clive Cussler book They always have a very interesting plot, often connected with some interesting trivia from history In this case, Egyptian history And Irish history That always adds an interesting twist to the story And then there are the hair raising situations they get into, and then get out of without usually having to shoot anyone Great fun reading

  4. Dirk Pitt and his sidekick Al Giordino return in this latest Dirk Pitt adventure. While on assignment in Central America, a major dam explodes, flooding much of the countryside Dirk and Al soon discover that the water around the dam is full of disease causing material.Meanwhile in Egypt, Dirk Jr and his sister Summer are at work on an archaeological dig Unfortunately for them, there are bad people who happen to be interested in what they re excavating During the course of the story, these two sto [...]

  5. Has all the elements of a Pitt adventure cast of characters, a psychotic antagonist, a solid dose of history, and a mystery to be solved This one takes place mostly on land so missing much of the NUMA aspects that you get with Kurt Austin s crew or the team on the Oregon but rich with intrigue around an Egyptian Queen transplanted to the British Isles I chose to read it over a long weekend trip so I didn t have to put it down which is good as I m not sure I would have wanted to If you are a Cuss [...]

  6. As per usual Dirk Pitt adventures, I am enjoy the going back to earlier times to set the stage for the adventure And while the book by and large was good reading, it was also lacking I don t think this is the first time that young Dirk got hooked up with a female who ended up feeding their whereabouts to the villains And the action, while good, I don t know how to explain this well, it was also, missing something My only beef was when the submersible painter was torn off the mini sub and Pitt pi [...]

  7. Hard to find anything good about this book The premise is based on an Egyptian myth about a princess queen who leaves Egypt and flees to eventually Ireland and Scotland bringing with her a magic plant that cures the plague This plague, resurrected in a secret facility by captured scientists, is being used by a demented woman to further her vision of a male free world by rendering women capable of bearing only female children Our heroes are constantly, and I mean constantly, just escaping certain [...]

  8. I haven t read a Dirk Pitt novel for a while as I lost interest in the series after the introduction of the miraculous conception twins Unfortunately I wish I hadn t bothered trying again Outdated and wooden characters with the same old plot line that is given away to the readers way before the characters so it s just a boring trudge to get to the end as you know exactly what is going to happen Die hard fans will probably like it but anyone who is used to modern and sophisticated thrillers won t [...]

  9. I have read all Clives books and enjoy them nearly all, this one seened difficult to get into than most and didn t have the same excitement Usually I m awake all hours reading these books but this one just didn t hold me Part of it is I am not a fan of the two pronged story where it switches from location to location with different heros It s a good read but not as enjoyable as other CC books
